DJ Tim Staney is a Florida-based gay circuit DJ, Pride event DJ, and dance music veteran specializing in high-energy LGBTQ+ events, Pride festivals, circuit parties, tea dances, and club events throughout Florida and across the United States. With a DJ career spanning nearly four decades, Tim blends uplifting house, circuit, disco, Hi-NRG, vocal anthems, and contemporary dance music into energetic, crowd-driven sets built for celebration, connection, and the dance floor.
Tim Staney’s DJ journey began in 1987 as a resident DJ at The Metro in Worcester, Massachusetts, one of New England’s premier nightclubs. His high-energy Thursday and Friday sets helped define the sound of the room, while his programming fueled the club’s record-breaking 18+ College Night and helped launch a dedicated Tuesday LGBTQ+ night that quickly became one of the region’s hottest weekly events.
Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, Staney became a fixture on the New England gay club and dance music scene, performing at venues including Club Elite, The Randolph Country Club, The Underground, Sanctuary, Maine Street, Clubland, and The Loft. In 1998, he joined Provincetown’s legendary Purgatory as a resident DJ, sharing the booth with pioneering DJ Wendy Hunt, and later appeared as a guest DJ at The Boatslip Beach Club’s world-famous Provincetown Tea Dance.
After relocating to Florida and stepping away from nightlife for several years, Tim returned to DJing in 2020, embracing a new generation of electronic dance music, digital DJ technology, and live performance. His comeback quickly grew into appearances at major Florida Pride events and LGBTQ+ celebrations, including Tampa Pride, St. Pete Pride, and other special events throughout the Tampa Bay and Orlando areas, along with multiple appearances at Tampa International Airport’s 5K on the Runway.
Tim has appeared on lineups with internationally recognized DJs including Robbie Leslie of Studio 54, The Saint, and SiriusXM; Todd Terry, whose career includes Ministry of Sound and Pacha Ibiza; and Jonathan Peters, known for New York institutions including Sound Factory, Limelight, and Roxy. Whether playing a Pride festival, circuit party, pool party, tea dance, nightclub, or special LGBTQ+ event, Tim brings the same signature combination of big-room energy, soaring vocals, familiar anthems, and contemporary house and circuit music.
In 2024, Tim joined the One Magical Weekend lineup in Orlando, performing for Orlando Bear Pride Presents Bear Jamboree. The response led to return invitations in 2025 and 2026, establishing him as a recurring part of one of Florida’s major LGBTQ+ destination weekends.
Today, DJ Tim Staney performs at Pride celebrations, gay circuit events, LGBTQ+ festivals, bear events, pool parties, tea dances, and nightlife events throughout Florida and nationwide. His sets draw on decades of dance music history while remaining firmly connected to today’s sound—bringing together classic anthems, vocal house, disco, Hi-NRG, modern house, tech house, and circuit music with one goal: creating a dance floor where the music lifts you up.

On The Radio
In 2022, Staney launched ANTHEM, his high-energy weekly dance music radio show on We Dance As One Internet Radio. Featuring a dynamic mix of house, remixes, vocal anthems, and reimagined dance classics, ANTHEM airs every Tuesday from 3–5 p.m. Eastern at wda1.com.
By 2025, the ANTHEM brand had expanded to include appearances on Power 78.7 Radio and Sandcastle Radio, extending Staney’s reach beyond the club and festival circuit and introducing his signature sound to an even broader national and international dance music audience.
