A Legacy of High-Energy Dance Mixes, House, and Club Anthems for LGBTQ Audiences Worldwide
Tim Staney’s DJ journey began in 1987 as the resident DJ at The Metro—Worcester’s premier nightclub—where his high-energy Thursday and Friday sets defined the sound of the room. His signature blend of big-room momentum and crowd-driven programming helped propel The Metro’s legendary 18+ College Night to record-breaking success and sparked the launch of a dedicated Tuesday LGBT night, which quickly became one of New England’s hottest weekly events under his direction.
Throughout the following decade, Staney became a fixture in the New England club circuit, performing at iconic venues including Club Elite, The Randolph Country Club, The Underground, Sanctuary, Maine Street, Clubland, and The Loft. In 1998, he joined Provincetown’s famed Purgatory as a resident DJ, sharing the booth with industry legend Wendy Hunt, and later appeared as a guest DJ at The Boatslip Beach Club’s world-famous Tea Dance.
After stepping away from the booth when he moved to Florida, Staney reignited his passion in 2020—embracing the new era of electronic music and digital mixing technology. His return quickly gained momentum, leading to live performances at major events including Tampa Pride, St. Petersburg Pride, and Tampa International Airport’s 5K on the Runway.
Tim joined the One Magical Weekend lineup in 2024, where he delivered an electrifying set at Orlando Bear Pride Presents Bear Jamboree. The performance earned rave reviews and an invitation to return in 2025 and 2026—further cementing his reputation as a DJ who brings unmatched energy, emotion, and connection to every dance floor he commands.
On The Radio
In 2022, Staney launched ANTHEM, his high-octane weekly radio show on We Dance As One Internet Radio. Blending house, remixes, and reimagined high-energy dance anthems, ANTHEM airs every Tuesday from 3–5 p.m. (Eastern time) at wda1.com.
By 2025, ANTHEM expanded to include Power 78.7 Radio and Sandcastle Radio—broadening the show’s reach and amplifying Staney’s national presence.
